Yellowstone National Park, Day Two, Part 1
On Saturday, June 18, we left Gardiner, Montana, before 9 am to start our second day (and first full day) in Yellowstone. We immediately headed to the North Entrance Arch for some photos, and then stopped at Mammoth Hot Springs for a visit to the Albright Visitor Center and to tour the hot springs in the area. We were not totally impressed with this visit. Our next stop was the Norris Geyser Basin, home of the 300' Steamboat Geyser (the last major eruption of that height was in 2014). We had lunch shortly thereafter, and then drove the park loop road to Old Faithful Village to see the nearly hourly eruption of Old Faithful, stopping along the way to visit Firehole Falls and the Midway Geyser Basin, home of the Grand Prismatic Spring.
