Red Lodge, MT

We left Billings, Montana, early this morning, with Suzanne now the fourth member of our road trip party. First stop, Red Lodge, Montana, a beautiful artsy town which has a long history of mining and is the county seat of Carbon County, Montana.  While the ladies got coffee and a chai tea and toured the town, Conor and I visited the Carbon County Museum which had a very informative exhibit on coal mining and the 1943 Smith Mine Disaster in which 74 miners were killed.
